Rising to the challenge of global warming will take all of us.  Take action now and spread the word across the state an country!  

The only way we will win on this issue is to reach out and encourage those not aware or involved to take action.  We need to rally engineers, mothers, students, architects, service workers, people of faith, medical professionals, teachers, sports enthusiasts and family members.

Dear Friends,

I write you today for your support and action.  I have been tracking the issue of global warming recently and we now stand at a crossroads, we need solutions at the scale of the climate challenge before us.

I would like to turn you on to an effort called 1Sky – it’s a new national campaign to pass meaningful federal climate policy in the United States by 2010.  The 1Sky Solutions deliver a comprehensive science-based policy platform designed to bring new economic opportunity to America, improve our national security, and address global warming.  Here is the platform:

•    MOBILIZE AMERICA FOR SOLUTIONS:  Create 5 million new jobs and pathways out of poverty with a sweeping national mobilization for climate solutions, energy independence, and investment in a new energy economy. Conserve 20% of our energy by 2015. Invest in efficiency and a Clean Energy Corps, and challenge all sectors of society to save energy immediately.
•    SECURE OUR FUTURE: Do what science says is necessary: reduce global warming pollution at least 25% below 1990 levels by 2020.  Get on a realistic path to the reductions needed to avoid dangerous climate change: at least 80% below 1990 levels by 2050.  Design our climate policy to support and reward accelerated public and private investment in solutions.
•    TRANSFORM OUR ENERGY PRIORITIES: End development of new coal plants that emit global warming pollution.  Pivot boldly away from fossil fuel dependence, and toward a clean energy future with strong standards and incentives for energy efficiency and renewable energy.
